The TechCrunch50 conference in San Francisco, which was held on Monday and Tuesday, provides an opportunity for many technology startups and unfunded companies to debut their business models to some of the industry’s most influential figures.
This year, the focus was on web 2.0 and software-as-a-service (SaaS) – in fact, the acquisition of a former TechCrunch winner, SaaS-based Mint.com, overlapped with the conference dates – and the launch of Chargify was no exception.
The SaaS-based recurring billing system – which blends billing with business intelligence – launched at this year’s conference, showing startups and investors how the cloud model can provide businesses with valuable, real-time insight into their revenue, signups, cancellations and other cash flow information.
Chargify features automatic analysis of a customer’s billing data – helping businesses analyze customer purchase behavior to guide future developments – as well as subscription management tools, a branded payment website, record storage for each customer and transaction, and customer scalability – Chargify even announced that the service is free for a business’ first 50 customers.
The company focuses on providing services for web 2.0 and SaaS startup businesses.
As seen in the other SaaS- and cloud-based solutions that filled the TechCrunch50 conference, the cloud computing market is rapidly growing and is expected to continue doing so – Telecom Trends International reported that cloud computing services will reach $45.5 billion in revenue by 2015
